Director & Producer
I wrote and directed Afterglow, a short psychological drama that explores grief, emotional dislocation, and the fracture beneath carefully constructed beauty. Set in the aftermath of a party, the film follows a woman moving from artificial vibrancy into emotional collapse, where the boundary between perception and reality gradually erodes.
As the co-cinematographer and co-gaffer, I used color contrast, motivated practicals, and controlled light reduction to externalize the character’s psychological unraveling, allowing lighting to function as a narrative force rather than a decorative element.
I really appreciate that I was supported by close and talented collaborators Jimin Lee, Avery Shelley, Kollin Washington and Frank Zhang from the Television, Radio, and Film master’s program, Newhouse.
